V34 Purple Whitening Strips
Purple cancels yellow. It is the same trick a colourist uses on brassy blonde hair, and the same reason a makeup artist reaches for green concealer to kill redness.
Lay a violet-tinted film over a yellow-toned tooth and the eye stops reading yellow. That is the entire mechanism — and it is worth being straight with you about what that means, because it is the reason this works in thirty minutes instead of three weeks.
Complementary colours neutralise each other. The V34 gel carries a violet pigment tuned to the particular yellow that coffee, rooibos, red wine and tobacco leave on enamel. Thirty minutes of contact and that yellow reads as neutral instead.
There is no peroxide in these strips. Nothing is being bleached and nothing is being stripped out of the tooth. You are correcting the colour, not removing it.
Because it is a film rather than a bleach, the effect fades. Most people re‑apply every second or third day.
Thirty minutes, three steps
It will not lighten crowns, veneers or white fillings.
Dental work holds whatever colour it was made in. If you have visible restorations at the front, correcting the natural teeth around them can leave the dental work looking more yellow by comparison, not less.
It will not remove tartar.
Nothing you stick onto a tooth can. Tartar is hardened plaque and it comes off with a scaler, at a dentist. Any whitening product claiming otherwise is telling you a story.
It will not change your teeth permanently.
The colour correction is a surface film. It fades over a day or two, and you top it up. Fourteen pairs is about two weeks of daily use, or a month at every other day.
It will not touch staining from inside the tooth.
Grey or banded discolouration — from tetracycline, fluorosis or a nerve that has died — sits under the enamel. This works on top of it. If that is what you are dealing with, see a dentist rather than spending money here.

Questions
Will it make my teeth sensitive?
The sharp cold‑sensitivity people associate with whitening comes from peroxide opening up the enamel, and there is no peroxide here. If your gums are already inflamed the adhesive can sting a little — that is a sign to stop and see a dentist, not to push through.
How long does one treatment last?
A day or two for most people. Less if you drink a lot of coffee or you smoke. Think of it the way you think of makeup rather than a dental procedure — you top it up before the things that matter.
Can I use it every day?
Yes. There is nothing in it that erodes enamel, so there is no waiting period between treatments.
I have braces. Can I use it?
Not while the brackets are on. The strip cannot make even contact around them and you would end up with patches of corrected and uncorrected enamel. Wait until they come off.
Will it stain my gums purple?
Briefly, if you overlap onto the gum, and it rinses straight off. Line the strip up to the gum line rather than over it and it is a non‑issue.
